September 19, 2008 Returning to work
So I start back at Adobe part-time starting in about 2 weeks. Luckily I have flexible hours and am able to work from home. So now we are searching for a part-time nanny to come and watch Jacob from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Tom is going to watch him in the early morning before work. I am so going to miss those 5 hours a day with the little guy! Hopefully, the part-time thing will work out for at least a little while, and I can manage the stress.
Check out Jacob playing peekaboo. It is so cute- he sets up the game all by himself- so clever!

August 7, 2008 Family Visits Pt 2
Jill and Brit's visit was great- we reall toured the city and Jacob came right along with us- he was such a trooper! Brit is so good with Jacob and it's a shame (for many reasons) she won't be moving here. I will miss them - hope they come back soon.

After Jill and Brit left, my mom, dad, and our 4 little sibs came for a week. It actually went a lot smoother than I anticipated, although Beijo was a bit put off by 3 smaller kids trying to play with her and pick her up (Noah quote 1: "Beijo bit me in the head!", everyone's response: "Good girl Beijo!"). Our house was filled with perscription drugs* and food with preservatives**.
The plan was to wear everyone out so they behaved and went to bed early. Only thing was it all wore ME out too! We did lots of dog walking (Noah quote 2: "More walking? Can I play XBox 360?"), went to the Exploratorium, and to Great America (Noah qoute 3: "When can I play Xbox 360?"). We spent a lot of time in the house playing with Jacob, and yes, there was a lot of Xbox360 playing. I felt a bit stressed from the sibling fighting (Michelle quote: "I told you Noah, you can't wear my Tupac watch, you have to be a gangsta to wear my Tupac watch", Noah: "I am a gangsta!") and various time-outs. Jacob LOVED hangin with his grandparents!! He misses them already.

July 21, 2008 Family Visits
This week my sister Jill and my niece Brittanie are coming to visit and to plan Brit's move here (she is going to live with us and go to City College and watch Jacob when I work). Next week, they leave and my mom, dad, and four younger sibling come to stay. Jacob will be entertained. Hopefully the downstairs bathroom construction will be complete!
Here are some more cute chatty vids of the little guy:

July 10, 2008 He's Gonna Be a Talker
I guess looking at his parents, does he really have a choice? Really though, he is quite the babbler and he's pretty strong too. I was just holding him on my shoulder because he needed burping and he head butted me in the side of the head 3 times and it hurt! This is with holding him tight too. Maybe I should stop eating so much protein?

July 8, 2008 Sunny Summer
Jacob is just over 2 months now and he is already getting so big. I can see him maturing right before my eyes- somedays he grows physically, some days it is mentally and some days emotionally. He is still babbling quite a bit and as you can see in the videos below, he likes to 'sing along'. The last week or so he has been really into looking at his hands and working them out. He's also sleeping in longer stretches, which is nice for me, although I still do a 2:30am feeding. Not a problem since we get a nap in during the day!
I started training Capoeira a few weeks ago and it is really great to be back. I only took about 3 months off total including both pregnancy and post-birth, but it really feels like much longer. It is going to take some time for my body to adjust and I am just going to take my time with it. I did have a really great time in class last week!
