April 4, 2007 The Year of the Wedding

I thought 2003 was the Year of the Wedding. Nope. I was wrong. 2007 has got it beat. Is it because 7 is considered a lucky number? I don't really know, but we are going to loads of weddings this year. Let's count them out: Pentagram peeps Amy and Brian (ok, we didn't go because it was last minute at City Hall) and Charles and Michelle who had a lovely ceremony last weekend; then there is our friend James who is getting married in Italy in the end of May (yes we are going!); Trisha (ha ha ha BUSTED); Jeremy and Janice here in Northern California; and my niece, who is getting married in Michigan. Tom and I are standing up in that wedding so it is good that he will have the opportunity to witness many a wedding beforehand. So that totals to 6 weddings- all of which are close friends or family to Tom and I.

I don't mind weddings. I like the parties! Free booze, dancing. Who doesn't like that? And I like to make bets with Tom on how long the union will last (KIDDING!). So good luck to all of those getting married in 2007, the Year of the Wedding.

And just for fun, here is the wedding invite I made for our wedding, back in 2001, which turned out the be the Year of Yucky, of course with the exception of our wedding. (Please pardon the clash of the pink against the jenfu background color. I want to keep the integrity of the original design...hahaha).

Also for laughs, here are some photos my dad recently sent me from their wedding. My dad recently learned how to use his Kodak share software. Yeah dad, welcome to 1999.

The people just left and right to my father are my god parents. At least I think they are. I'm pretty sure they both have passed on. The kid on my dad's lap is my older brother. I think he is picking his nose, or he's holding back from biting the cake.

Here are my parents cutting their cake. I don't know the boy next to my dad. My older sister is to the right.

My dad removing the garter belt. There is a reason I posted this. Ok two reasons. Number one- the look on that chick to the right's face is creepy and priceless at the same time. And two- all of the shoes in this picture are back in style for like the tenth time. For reals. Not my dad's chops though. Woah.
